MTI is a leading metal casting company that produces over 300,000 tons per year of high quality gray, ductile, and aluminum castings for a variety of industries. MTI’s headquarters are in Auburn, IN, USA and the company has multiple plants in North America. The new foundry location will be San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
In 2015, MTI and Gemco began the project by developing a concept design. Subsequently, MTI and Gemco developed the detailed equipment and building specifications with suppliers and architects upfront prior to construction. The approach made it possible to reduce the lead time for realization to just 12 months from decision to production.
Gemco will deliver the project turnkey including installation and commissioning. The total investment will be up to $100 mln USD in the final phase including almost 100,000 tons of annual casting production on both vertical and horizontal molding lines.
